" The Transitional Duty    Program with a Heart "

What is WorkPaceUSA?

WorkPaceUSA, developed by the Volunteer Center of North Texas, provides alternatives to employers that lack modified job duty opportunities for workers with restrictions due to job-related injuries.

Each year, over a million job-related injuries result in lost work time. Another one million employees are placed on restricted work activity. These workplace realities translate to excessive workers’ compensation costs that affect both productivity and the bottom line.

In an effort to help solve this problem, and other problems in the corporate sector related to workers’ compensation issues, the Volunteer Center developed WorkPaceUSA™.

WorkPaceUSA™ places and monitors recovering employees in transitional or light duty positions within nonprofit organizations that address a variety of community needs. Positive results demonstrate the success of the program.

Over an 18 -month period a test company saw reductions of:

  • Lost workdays by 28%

  • Incurred medical costs by 32%

  • Total cost per accident by 42%
